The day-to-day operation of the farm is shared by Bob Ellicott and Marie Berry.
Bob was born on an Exmoor farm and has been farming almost since the day he was born. Aged 78, his ambition is to farm until he is 96, like his father before him. With Bob we have been able to draw on the deep knowledge of an experienced stock man and keep vets bills to a minimum. Bob has his own small holding and never throws anything away. Nearly everything we have has been re-cycled or up-cycled, including the barn we put up at Langford Heathfield.
Marie is a free spirit, who has her own flock of ewes. Her beliefs about the natural world and the importance of listening to mother nature, and trusting her, extends to the upbringing of her daughters, who live an out-door life and are always willing to help on the farm. Phoebe and Grace may be known to those of you with children at Milverton school.
We also have the services of Rowley Leigh, a top London chef, trained by the Roux Brothers who now lives on Exmoor. We are seeking a license to do home butchery and we are already working on recipes for sausages, burgers, marinades etc. In due course we will talk more about this as we diversify our offer.
